3D Tumour Technology At University Hospital of North Staffordshire

Dr Joseph Sule-Suso and his colleagues at University Hospital of North Staffordshire have used Virtual Environment Radiotherapy (VERT) 3D technology to show cancer patients a 3-dimensional image of their tumour. The aim of the project is to assess whether the use of 3D technology is able to help with the assessment of cancers, alongside treatment planning and processes. An initial pilot study with 50 prostate cancer patients has now been expanded to include 250 patients experiencing a range of different cancers.
