Who can become a member of West Midlands Health Informatics Network (WIN)?

The network is an informal network that, with the help of the Academic Health Science Network, will be developing into a formal network over the next 12-18 months. Anyone within the West Midlands with an interest in health informatics can obtain membership, if they are from:
• NHS or other public healthcare sectors including local councils
• Academic institutions
Membership to private sector and others – Members from private sector and third sector organisations can also obtain membership. However members will need to provide details on how they can contribute to the network, the benefits they foresee for their organisation and declare any conflicts of interest. The advisory group will approve the membership.

What are the benefits of becoming a member of the network?

There are many benefits to becoming a member of WIN. You will be provided with a unique opportunity to become connected with a diverse range of professionals within the region. This will help members to share knowledge and collaborate across setting, profession, sector and geographical boundaries to facilitate innovation in the West Midlands. You will have the opportunity to join forums, attend workshops and ultimately raise awareness of health informatics from the undergraduate to postgraduate professional level. You will also receive regular updates on national initiatives, innovations and events around digital health. Importantly it’s free to join!

How do I register with WIN?

Registering with WIN ( takes only a few minutes! Follow these simple steps and become a member today:

Step 1: Visit the registration page of our website, under the ‘login’ tab. Click the box to start your registration.

Step 2: Choose a username and enter your email address, name and job description. Press submit which will take you onto another page where you check the information you entered is accurate and press the register button.

Step 3: You will be sent an email with your user name and password and a second email (within 24-48 hours of registration) approving you as a user will be sent. Login by entering your username and password into the boxes provided.

Step 4: Change your password and update your information by visiting the profile (only your name, job title, LinkedIn and twitter account will be displayed for other members to see). Please note if you do not wish any of your information to be displayed then you will have to go to your profile and unclick the “visibility” box towards the bottom of your profile. We strongly encourage visibility of your name and job description for other members.
